Who We Are
The "Paramus Volunteer Ambulance Corps" actually consists of the Paramus Ambulance Corps and the Paramus Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Inc. Depending on the context, the discussion may be about one or both organizations. Sometimes the terms are used interchangeably, which may lead to confusion.
The Paramus Ambulance Corps is an agency of the Borough of Paramus and is responsible for EMS (emergency medical services).
The Paramus Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Inc. is a corporation which is tax exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. It owns the real estate and the headquarters building in which the ambulances and other EMS equipment are housed. It conducts an annual fund drive to maintain the ambulance headquarters and assists the Paramus Ambulance Corps with some items not fully provided by the Borough of Paramus.
